Introduction to Microsurgery


We invite ENT surgeons with a special interest to participate in this one-day hands-on course in micro surgery in collaboration with the Transplantation surgeons at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We specially target specialists within tumor surgery focusing on basic microsurgery for vessel and nerve repair. Skilled surgeons from the Department of Transplant Surgery will be teaching at the course.

Registration for this course is only available for already registered participants for the XXXIII Nordic ORL Congress. You will be asked for your reference code when register to the course. Available seats will be offered on a first come, first serve basis and the seats are limited.

Micro-suturing: how can something so simple get that difficult?


09:15 – 12:00

Practical training: hand-eye coordination, suturing and knotting on non-living tissue (latex glove)


12:00 - 12:45

12:45 - 13:00

Briefing: Tissue dissection (chicken thigh) and end-to-end anastomosis (artery, vein, nerve)


13:00-16:00

Practical training: Tissue dissection (chicken tigh), end-to-end anastomosis on femoral artery, vein and nerve
